Mr. Arun Arora is a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and did his Masters from Delhi School of Social Work.
He was associated with Eicher group for 30 years largely as an HR Professional. During his stay with Eicher he also did was Incharge of the Group’s Garment Export Business for about 6 years.
Mr. Arun K. Arora joined Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital 6 years back and as the CEO, he leads a team of Doctors and Professionals to deliver Quality Eye Care to the unreached. During his tenure he has been able to transform this century old hospital into a tertiary eye care institute rated as the best in North India. This hospital has expanded its services by setting up three hospitals and 15 Vision Centers in remote rural hinterland of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Arun has always been actively involved in social issues from college days. During his student days he was active in the field of voluntary work and won the best Social Worker Medal in his college. During his post graduate studies he founded Prerana, a voluntary organization working amongst the urban/rural poor on issues connected with gender equality, girl child education, women livelihood . He is presently the Chairperson of Prerana.
About Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital: The story of Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital began in one room in the walled city of Delhi in 1914 where Dr Sorabji P Shroff, a 36 year old graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, decided to establish a clinic. In 1922, a trust was established by Dr Shroff, with sustained representations, in 1924, the British Administration made land available in Daryaganj. The hospital was completed in 1927. In 1962, the institution was selected as a leading eye hospital by the International Conference of Ophthalmology held in Delhi.
